Review
If you are looking for a powerful, full featured and freeware audio playback tool, you’ve just found it. Foobar2000 is the answer. As previously mentioned, this easy-to-use yet powerful tool will allow you to playback your favorite music in your PC, without spending one buck.
Even when is a tool available free of charge, it provides powerful tools and graphical visualizations such as, equalizer, console, oscilloscope, peak meter, spectrogram, among others. Besides these features it includes all the common playback control tools included in standard playback tools. Regarding playback order, it includes some novel features such as shuffle options applied not only to files but to folders and albums.
In order to organize your media files you can use the library. This library will help you to categorize and rate your tracks so you can create automatic playback lists later according to some criteria.
The interface is not developed looking for a good look, it’s more like a “decent” look just enough to get what you need when you need it without any trouble. Of course, nothing is really “free” in life and that could be the price you have to pay for this free-of-charge application.
Upon installation you can select some extra components to install along with the main application. Among these components you will find converters, search filters, decoders and others. Foobar will run correctly under the following operating systems: Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008. |
